MAJORITY Brings Banking to Migrants

MAJORITY is a non-traditional bank that was founded in 2019 and aimed at making it easier for new migrants to have access to banking services. MAJORITY sets up “meetups” in areas where immigrant populations cluster. It hires advisors that are from the countries where the immigrant populations come from to do outreach and education ranging from how to get a driver’s license, to signing up for a credit card. The company opened its fifth meetup space in Laredo, Texas to aid the migrants crossing the border from Mexico. It also plans on releasing its Migrant Handbook, which will include tips on budgeting, saving, investing, and even on enrolling kids in school.
