Apply for a Non-immigrant Visa

Steps to Follow

  1. Complete the online DS-160 Non-immigrant Visa Application.
  2. Print out the DS-160 verification page.
  3. Pay for the visa on the U.S. Embassy or consulate website in the country where he/she lives.
  4. Print out the visa payment confirmation page.
  5. Schedule an appointment for the interview on the U.S. Embassy or consulate website in the country where he/she lives.
  6. Print out the visa interview appointment confirmation page.

Documents required to complete the DS-160

  • A passport that will be valid for at least six months beyond the period of stay in the U.S.
  • The dates of the applicant’s last five visits to the U.S. (if applicable)
  • Applicant’s education and work history.
  • Applicant’s digital photograph. See visa photo requirements.

Documents to bring to the visa interview

  • A passport that will be valid for at least six months beyond the period of stay in the U.S.
  • The passport that is stamped with the last issued US visa (if you have traveled to the US before)
  • The printed Form DS-160 verification page.
  • The visa interview appointment confirmation page from the American Embassy website. 
  • A recent 5 x 5 cm color visa photograph.
  • Marriage certificate for a husband or wife or birth certificate for children under 21 years of age.
