Steps to Follow
- Complete the online DS-160 Non-immigrant Visa Application.
- Print out the DS-160 verification page.
- Pay for the visa on the U.S. Embassy or consulate website in the country where he/she lives.
- Print out the visa payment confirmation page.
- Schedule an appointment for the interview on the U.S. Embassy or consulate website in the country where he/she lives.
- Print out the visa interview appointment confirmation page.
Documents required to complete the DS-160
- A passport that will be valid for at least six months beyond the period of stay in the U.S.
- The dates of the applicant’s last five visits to the U.S. (if applicable)
- Applicant’s education and work history.
- Applicant’s digital photograph. See visa photo requirements.
Documents to bring to the visa interview
- A passport that will be valid for at least six months beyond the period of stay in the U.S.
- The passport that is stamped with the last issued US visa (if you have traveled to the US before)
- The printed Form DS-160 verification page.
- The visa interview appointment confirmation page from the American Embassy website.
- A recent 5 x 5 cm color visa photograph.
- Marriage certificate for a husband or wife or birth certificate for children under 21 years of age.
